I was walkin with my friends and we saw a hurt bird so we picked it up. we think it is paralyzed! wat do we do

We were walking and we saw the hurt bird! so we tried picking it up but it flew away. we watched it and fell as it was flying. we went to go get it and we brought it back to the house. we gave it some water and food because it was helpless. its feet had no feelings at all and my friends dad was a vet so he said that he might be paralyzed or a broken wing. we had this medical tape that he put on so that he wouldnt hrt himself when he tried to fly. we dont know what to do! HELP US PLEASE!!!!! should we contact the humane society or.. what?
